Today’s cabin cruisers combine luxury accommodations and amenities with modern performance, and for many boaters, owning one represent the ultimate way to enjoy the boating lifestyle. But which cabin cruisers deserve to be called best as the 2022 model year hits the water? We searched high and low to nail down the options that set the bar for this type of watercraft, and if you imagine yourself owning a cabin cruiser your dreamboat will almost certainly be found on this list.

2022 Belize 54 Daybridge

Following up on the success of its 66 Daybridge, Belize rolled out the 54 Daybridge model here in the United States in 2020 just as the pandemic arrived. With so many boat show cancellations since then many people haven’t yet seen the 54 Daybridge and it remains quite sought-after. Designed in a collaboration between Belize and Riviera Yachts and constructed by Australian Builder Riviera, the 54 Daybridge features the easy living of a single-level layout including a lower control station along with a flybridge on top. Construction is cutting-edge, with resin infusion, a vinylester outer skin, and independent foam-filled hull compartments. This is also a CZone-equipped digital switching boat with glass cockpit electronics and IPS propulsion. Luxury touches include an outdoor grill and wet bar, a tender garage, a foredeck sunpad, and a three stateroom, two head layout.

2022 Beneteau Gran Turismo 41

Beneteau, the world’s largest boatbuilder, announced last year that they would replace their 40 Gran Turismo with an all-new 2022 Gran Turismo 41. Though it’s a new model the 41 doesn’t stray far from the previous model’s design and features. The foredeck sunpad got a redesign and is now far more comfortable, with reclining backrests, courtesy lighting, and a retractable canopy. The aft sunpad sees some changes too, with new dimensions allowing guests to sit at a more comfortable height. But perhaps the biggest change can be seen in the hard top, which now incorporates a larger sunroof along with slimmer supports to allow more natural sunlight to stream into the boat’s interior.

2022 Greenline 58 Fly

The 2022 Greenline 58 Fly is yet to been completed as we go to press, so some details are still TBA and there are no listing for the specific model just yet. However, this cabin cruiser is making headlines even before its launch. The big news: the 2022 58 Fly will come equipped with Greenline’s next-generation hybrid electric H-Drive system. This incorporates an electric motor with a diesel engine, battery bank, solar panels on the roof, and an energy management system. Net result? Nearly silent and zero emission cruising at slow speeds, for limited ranges. Yet the boat also offers traditional performance when running via diesel power. Greenline expects to have the 58 Fly splashed and ready for sea trials by the fall.

The Hunt Yachts ocean series features classic looks inside and out combined with modern, exceptional performance. Despite its 135,000 pound heft it can hit speeds of 31 knots and cruise comfortably at 27 knots, powered by a pair of 1,900 horsepower Caterpillar C32 diesels. What’s new for 2022 is the edition of an enclosed pilothouse version, complete with an L-shaped settee and a wet bar behind the upper station plus an open flybridge extending aft over the cockpit. Inside the yacht stays true to the Hunt heritage, with varnished wood cabinetry and furniture, teak and holly soles, and polished stainless-steel hardware.

2022 Nimbus C11

Although few Nimbus models have made it to the US market in the past, this Swedish builder has been around for decades and recently has made a push to bring their boats to our shores; the C11 is one of their newest offerings. Billed as a “next generation commuter,” this is a serious performer with top speeds in excess of 40 knots and a twin-stepped hull. But it also scores high on the luxury scale, with a fully enclosed saloon, two staterooms, and options for perks like air conditioning, joystick steering, gyroscopic stabilization, and seats with impact-absorbing suspension systems. Plus, the cabin is ringed by recessed sidedecks, so walking forward to the bow cockpit (with a lounger and sunpad) is safe and easy.

2022 Prestige X-Line X60

The new for 2022 X-Line X60 is the second X-line model (joining the X70) and follows the same core design concepts of open spaces, natural light, multiple zones of relaxation, and bringing the great outdoors inside as well as outside. The cabin opens up to join the cockpit via a huge sliding glass door, the saloon is surrounded 360-degrees with windows, and the flybridge hard-top has an opening sunroof. A highlight is the “infinity cockpit,” connected with the cabin via an electric sliding glass door. Belowdecks there are three private staterooms including a full-beam master. There’s also an option for a crew’s quarters. Added bonus: the X60 incorporates Seanapps remote monitoring and scheduling app.

2022 Regal 36 Grande Coupe

Last year Regal had to announce the introduction of the 36 Grande Coupe via a virtual event, surely a sore disappointment for fans of Regal boats. As 2022 hits, however, this model is ready to be seen by the public at large. With an unusual open cockpit sealed off by a sliding glass enclosure the 36 Grande Coupe offers an exceptional amount of elbow room for a cabin cruiser of its size, and features a multi-position bow lounger that’s easily accessed through a swing-open windshield. Propelled by Volvo Penta powerplants from 700 to 860 horsepower, the 36 Grande Coupe can also be outfitted with yacht-like features including a Seakeeper 3 gyroscopic stabilization system, a central vacuum system, and diesel or gasoline generators.

2022 Riva 68 Diable

Italian heritage is obvious in the Riva 68 Diable. Photo by The Ferretti Group.

Introduced to the world at the 2021 Cannes Yacht Festival last summer, the 68 Diable features massive bow and stern relaxation zones with both seating and sunpads fore and aft. Inside the aft sunpad there’s a garage designed for a Williams Sport Jet 345 tender. But above all else the 68 Diable’s strong suit is its Italian design and styling. Sleek and sporty even as it’s sized more like a yacht than a boat, the design is derived from a collaboration between Mauro Micheli (the founder of Officina Italiana Design), Sergio Bereta, and the Ferretti Group engineering team. With V12 MAN diesel inboards the boat’s projected top-end is 37 knots with standard power and 40 knots with the optional powerplants. Belowdecks accommodations include three private cabins all with en suite heads, arranged around an open galley and dinette.

2022 Sea Ray Sundancer 370 Outboard

Sea Ray boats have evolved quite a bit in recent times, and none show the most modern changes more than the new Sundancer 370 Outboard. A hybrid between a cabin cruiser and a bowrider, the 370 has a full cabin with a forward lounge/convertible V-berth, an aft mid-cabin under the helm, a galley, and an enclosed stand-up head. Yet standing abovedecks you’d hardly realize how much cabin there is down below, because there’s little sacrifice made in useable space topsides. The helm-deck transitions neatly into a port-side walkthrough that takes you up to a bow cockpit with wrap-around seating, a convertible dinette table, and removable filler cushions that turn the entire area into a sun lounge.

2022 Tiara 48 LS

Blurring the line between cabin cruisers and day-boats, the Tiara 48 LS combines sporty performance and an abundance of outdoor recreation area with a fully equipped cabin. The layout is designed to incorporate multiple social areas and has an aft cockpit set off by a huge rotating aft lounge and a “beach terrace,” which folds down to turn one side of the cockpit into a gigantic swim platform. Another outdoor social area is found in the bow cockpit, accessed by a side-deck that wraps around the cabin on the starboard side, where you’ll discover wrap-around seating and an electrically-actuated pop-up table that rises from the deck at the press of a button. Food prep takes place in a fully featured outdoor galley located aft of the helm. Even with so much emphasis on the outdoor areas of the boat the 48 LS still offers a substantial cabin including a mid-cabin with single berths that can slide together to form a double, an enclosed head, and a forward stateroom with a pedestal berth.
